Privacy policy
This policy explains how Structural Engineer Reports, a service of Omega Project Services (ABN 22 651 397 410), handles the personal information you give us through structuralengineerreports.com.au, by phone or by email. We aim to handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Last updated 8 October 2026.
In short
We collect what you choose to send us so we can quote, inspect and report. We don't sell it, we only share it when your job needs it or the law requires it, and you can ask to see or correct it at any time.
What we collect
We only collect what we need to quote for and carry out your job:
- Contact details: your name, phone number, email address and, if you give it, your company.
- Property details: the address, the type of property, access arrangements and any deadline, such as a cooling-off period.
- Information about the problem: your description, and any photos, contractor quotes, earlier reports or plans you send us.
- Inspection records: our notes, measurements and photographs of the property, and the reports, designs and certificates we prepare.
- Business records: the details we need to invoice you and keep our accounts.
We don't ask for sensitive information, such as health information, and you don't need to send us bank or card details through the website.
How we collect it
Mostly from you: through the quote forms on this website, by phone and by email. Sometimes it comes from someone acting for you with your knowledge, such as a conveyancer, builder, contractor, property manager or strata manager. We also create records ourselves when we inspect a property.
How we use it
We use your information to:
- prepare your quote and arrange the inspection
- carry out the inspection and prepare your report, design or certificate
- contact you about your job and answer your questions
- invoice you and keep the business records the law requires
We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for unrelated marketing.
Who we share it with
Only as far as your job needs, or the law requires:
- People you ask us to share it with, such as a contractor, your building surveyor or certifier, an insurer, a lawyer, a conveyancer or a strata committee.
- Service providers who help us run the business, such as our website host, form-processing service, email, file storage and accounting providers. They may only use it to provide their service to us.
- Anyone the law requires us to give it to, for example under a court order or subpoena.
Some of our service providers may store or process information outside Australia.
Photos, reports and records
Inspection photos focus on the building, but they may show parts of the inside of your home. Reports, photos and inspection notes are kept as professional records, because they may be needed later: to compare a crack over time, to support a design or certification, or to answer questions about a report. A report is prepared for the client named on it, and we don't give a copy to anyone else without that client's permission unless the law requires it.
Storage and security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure, and we store it with reputable service providers. No system is completely secure, so please only send us what we need for your job. We keep personal information for as long as we need it for the job, our professional records and the law, then delete or de-identify it.
Our website and the services it uses
- Quote forms are processed by a third-party form service, which passes your request, and any files you attach, on to us.
- Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google's servers when you visit.
- Our hosting and security providers may log technical information, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
We don't use cookies for advertising on this website.
Access and correction
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it. Contact us on 07 2150 0579 or at info@structuralengineerreports.com.au. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we'll respond within a reasonable time.
Questions and complaints
If you have a question or a concern about how we've handled your information, contact us first using the details above and we'll do our best to resolve it. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
